「股神」巴菲特 (Warren Buffett) 上周受訪時警告，美國經濟情況並不如人們想的好，且收入差距持續擴大，這些都可能是造成美國共和黨總統當選人川普 (Donald Trump) 打敗民主黨對手希拉蕊 (Hillary Clinton) 的原因。
巴菲特周四 (10 日) 接受《CNN》記者 Poppy Harlow 專訪時指出，美國經濟情況並不是非常好，儘管第三季國內生產毛額 (GDP) 成長率數據達 2.9%，但他不認為有這麼高，並預期將下修。「我並非指經濟疲軟，只是比人們想的弱。」而巴菲特認為，這很可能幫助了川普支持度加速崛起。
巴菲特並坦言，美國貧富差距擴大是個「重大問題」，並且可能幫助川普贏過希拉蕊；他不諱言，在當前經濟環境下，能夠勝出者是「像他這樣的富人」。而儘管巴菲特同意，政策焦點應該放在改善一般勞動階級的收入，但他不認為提高最低薪資是最佳辦法，主張減免所得稅的效果才更好。
